The Fight Against Poverty

If you did not know...Bono is the lead singer of the world's richest band U2. Bono has been campaigning for many years to end the debt that 2/3rd world (changed from 3rd world) countries owe the 1st world countries. The reasoning behind this is Bono's theology formed from the bible. In the Old Testament we find that debts were forgiven in the year of the Jubilee which would occur every 50 years.

I am sure glad it is the weekend. It being flu season it is hard to get rid of a persisent cold. I am planning to get tickets to the U2 concert on April 20th in Denver. It should be a trip. People and their quest for power and respect. We need to forget our differences and band together to effect change in the world around us. This means paying more attention to the needs of the poor. Part of the answer lies in using technology to bring information and better ways of doing things to the 2/3rd world. Part of the answer lies in letting go of our self-centeredness. Well that is my sermon for the day.
