Reading for Today

Day of Controversy and parables
Tuesday

Mt 21:23-24:51, Mk 11:27-13:37, Lk 20:1-21:36

In Jerusalem
Jesus evaded the traps set by the priests.

On the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem
He taught in parables and warned the people against the Pharisees. He predicted the destruction of Herod's great temple and told his disciples about future events, including his own return.

Vertigo by U2

Uno, dos, tres, catorce,

Lights go down it’s dark
The jungle is your head - can’t rule your heart
I’m feeling so much stronger than before
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul it can’t be bought
Your mind can wander

Hello, hello... (Hola)
I'm at a place called Vertigo (dóndre estás)
It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
Except you give me something...
I can feeeel, feeeeeeel

The night is full of holes
There's bullets ripping sky of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can’t dance - at least they know

I can’t stand the beat
I’m asking for the cheque
Girl with crimson nails
It's Jesus 'round her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music

Hello, hello... (Hola)
I'm at a place called Vertigo (dóndre estás)
It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
But you give me something...
I can feeeel, feeeeeeel

Hello, hello... (Hola)
We're at a place called Vertigo (dóndre estás)
Lights go down and no one knows
That you give me something...
I can feel your love teaching me
Aaahhhhh-aaahhh-aaahhh-aaahhh...
Your love is teaching me
Aaahhhhh-aaahhh-aaahhh-aaahhh...
How to kneel, kneel

Slightly edited according to my tastes. I have been listening to this song a lot lately. So far iTunes has counted it as 35 times. Just heard that Bono (Paul Hewson) has decided not to be the president of the World Bank but has endorsed Colin Powell. The lastest news is that George Bush has endorsed Paul Wolfowitz the Deputy Defense Secretary of the U.S to be next World Bank president.

iTunes

Finally decided to get iTunes and jump on the bandwagon. Actually, who needs CDs. It is a lot cheaper to buy an album from iTunes and you get the cover art as well. The freedom to pick individual songs from an album is more than worth it. I predict the destruction of CD stores worldwide.

Generally, I am looking forward to my road trip to the Grand Canyon after the U2 concert on April 20th. Will be back in Denver on April 26th. May even go to Southern California if time allows. Only a little more than a month away. Will definetely put the digi pics on here.

What have I been reading lately? Well...I have been reading the book "Walk On" which is about the spiritual journey of U2. Really trying to do all I can to get ready for the concert. I have been listening to U2's latest CD constantly. I hope to get one of the first T-shirts under U2's clothing line called Edun. That is nude spelled backwards. It is certified "fair-wage" clothing and made of environmentally friendly materials.

Today, I had a good meal of corn beef and cabbage. Irish meals are special today as it is St. Patrick's day. Got pinched a few times for not wearing green. Silly holiday. Actually, I found out today that St. Patrick was responsible for Christianizing Ireland. He came to Ireland from England as a slave and from such humble beginnings lead the people of Ireland to Christ. He baptized 120,000 souls. What a pioneer in terms of missions.

Easter is coming up next week. How exciting! I am planning on going to red rocks which is a natural amphitheatre made of red rocks. Can I really get up for the Easter service starting at 6 am. If I do it...the sunrise will be worth it. I'm going to see the passion play of Denver on Good Friday. I will not eat any meat on Friday to remember Christ's death on the cross for my sins. I really want to start on a book I took out of the library on the trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin in Mark 14:53-65. Lately, I have just been realizing the great magnitude of suffering and humiliation which Christ suffered just to save us.

Have a good weekend.

Bush Pushes Faith-Based Initiative Agenda

An interesting article about faith based agencies. Hopefully these agencies will get more funding in the future. Click on the title. Today was a good day. It was very peaceful. Here are some cool verses I sang today.

Ps 40:1 I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me, and heard my cry.

Ps 40:2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.
