The bitter defeat of the nuggets
A few days ago...the Denver Nuggets lost to the San Antonio Spurs. Oh the disappointment but the joy that the nuggets made the playoffs two years in a row. Here is the story from nba.com:
San Antonio stepped on the gas early in the fourth quarter and hammered out a 99-89 series-clinching Game 5 win Wednesday over the Nuggets. Robert Horry scored seven of his 17 points during the pivotal 18-7 run. Tony Parker led with 21 points, Tim Duncan had 18 points with 11 rebounds and Manu Ginobili also scored 18. Denver was led by Carmelo Anthony’s 25. The Spurs will open the second round at home against Seattle.
What else is new? Well...I need to prepare a sermon for Sunday at the Mar Thoma church. Need to brainstorm ideas or use a message I used for Tuesday Bible Study. Plan to go to the Denver Seminary library and do some research. Just downloaded "A little less conversation" by Elvis from iTunes. This song has a very cool dance beat. The other song I got from iTunes is "California Dreamin" by Queen Latifah. This is an excellent R&B lounge version of this Mamas & Papas hit. Here are the words:
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
I went for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day
I stopped into a church (stopped into a church)
I passed along the way (passed along the way)
You know, I got down on my knees (got down on my knees)
And I pretend to pray (I pretend to pray)
Oh, the preacher likes the cold (preacher likes the cold)
He knows I'm gonna stay (knows I'm gonna stay)
Oh, California dreamin' (California dreamin')
On such a winter's day
All the leaves are brown (the leaves are brown)
And the sky is grey (and the sky is grey)
I went for a walk (I went for a walk)
On a winter's day (on a winter's day)
If I didn't tell her (if I didn't tell her)
I could leave today (I could leave today)
Oh, California dreamin'(California dreamin')
On such a winter's day (California dreamin')
On such a winter's day (California dreamin')
On such a winter's day (California dreamin')
On such a winter's day
